What do you think of the food that you can buy on the trains (Midland Mainline - Standard Class) ?
Is it better to eat before boarding the train (@ London St Pancras) or is the food decent ?

I have some sandwiches on the trains before and they were good. I don't think that you need to eat before getting on the train.

I always buy food ahead of time to take on the train. It isn't that the food isn't decent but it is generally overpriced for what you get with limited choice.

The food is OK but it's overpriced. Buy sandwiches at a local supermarket before you head to the station and eat them on the train,
