I know about Portobello Rd., Camden Town and Covent Gardens but I've always wanted to go to the Bermondsey Market on Friday mornings. I can't find any recent guidebooks that mention it. Is it still in operation?
Does anyone know of an off the beaten path flea market that I could find small antiques like hair combs, beaded purses, jewelry, etc...at a "reasonable" price? I know this may be asking a lot for London but I am ever hopeful. Thanks
Kari,
I was in London this past November '08 and we went to the Bermondsey Flea Market on a Friday. Our host said it was much smaller than in past years, but she did find some silver pieces. Have fun!

Thank you so much. I am in Bath right now, but, am heading back to London tomorrow which means I will more than likely miss the market if it's early. Thanks again for your reply.
If you dare to venture into the East End, Whitechapel (Jack the ripper and all that), there is a street market on Brick Lane on Sundays.
Definitely check out the Brick Lane Sunday market and nearby Spitalfields on the same day.
I am a big fan of Greenwich market too. That is a whole day out.
Thank you so much, I will check them out tomorrow, Saturday.
