We're thinking about traveling to the fjords at the end of April (we'll be in Copenhagen), but have two concerns - the limited train/ferry schedules and the weather. Any insight?

We did a loop drive of the fjords in June, starting at Bergen, heading up to Balestrand and Geiranger, and then back to Bergen. The ferrys for crossing the fjords did not seem to be on a limited schedule. I don't think we ever waited for one more than 30 minutes. They simply sail back and forth, sort of like movable bridges......... I can't help with your snow in April question, however, there were still snow banks alongside the higher roads in June....... The high road east of Geiranger was in white out conditions...... However, the roads themselves had no snow......... You might want to try your question on the tripadvisor Norway forum-perhaps a local citizen could give you more specific information.
