I am joining my daughter in Geneva in early May and we have to be back in the US by May 15th. We would both love to cruise on a fjord in Norway. We noticed in Rick's book that mid June is the advised travel time for the fjord, but does that mean everything is closed in May--or just cold? Thank you.
My wife and I traveled up the coast of Norway from Stavanger to Alesund, with stops in Bergen and Flam, in mid-May of 2006. The weather was pretty good--highs in the mid-50's to low 60's, mostly sunny, with a few scattered showers. There were no crowds, and most things were open. I'd go for it, and hope for the best.
