I am traveling to Copenhagen later this month to meet a cruise ship. I have about five hours to go sightseeing. Any suggestions? Can I store my bags at the central train station? Thanks.
Yes, there is a left luggage downstairs, near the restrooms, in Copenhagen train station. There is also a cruise host along the Stroget. I've heard they will let you leave your bags there. We never saw it (weren't really looking for it) so I can't tell you exactly what they offer. We went a few days early then took the train to Northport (maybe Norreport) and walked to our ship (kind of long, especially if you don't walk a lot or have a lot of luggage, but doable). I would suggest Fredericksborg Palace and gardens, (compact and includes crown jewels), National Museum (can see as much as you want), or a canal cruise out of Nyhaven plus a stroll on the Stroget for your time there. There are a lot of things to see in Copenhagen so you really need to decide what interests you most.
Hello Bonnie. Will you fly to the Copenhagen airport ? When I flew to the Copenhagen airport, getting out of that airport was quick and easy. The train ticket office (for train travel to the city Copenhagen) was located very near the window where I showed my Passport to the Immigration person. I recommend : plan to go to one place in Copenhagen. I think most people would like the Rosenborg Palace and the royal treasury in its basement. Ride in the S-tog train to the Norreport station, and walk ten minutes via Ostervoldgade. In pleasant weather, the park (green grass lawn) in back of Rosenborg palace is a good place for relaxing, and possibly conversation with Danish people. (They can talk in the English language, fluently).
