I'm going to Lahti, Finland in mid February and am wondering what I should see and do. This is near Helsinki. I will be there for one week and am not interested in taking any flights to other countries. I've been to Sweden and Copenhagen but have never ventured into Finland. Any ideas from anyone who has been in Finland? Thanks all.

Get yourself an older copy of the Lonely Planets guide to Finland and a 3 or 4 day eurorail pass and explore either the lake lands area or tour the Italia glass factory, Fiskars village tour, or plan a ferry trip from Helsinki to Estonia/Tallin shopping day! That will keep you busy! sincerely, SMA
P.S. I will be taking my 3rd trip to Finland this summer. I love the trains there. I have yet to take that trip to Tallin, but that is only because I have cousins in Helsinki and the Kokkola/Kalajoki beach area. So I always seem to find my time visiting rather than touring. Both are so fun. This time I am planning a side trip to the Nuutajarvia Glass Village to visit local glass artists. Then it's to the beautiful beaches of Kokkola and Kalajoki!
