Has anyone gont to Fingal's cave from either Iona or Mull..We plan to be there October 20, 21st. I would appreciate any practical suggestions and advice.
Yep, I've done this tour. I did it on 9/11. So, first off, it's the Isle of Staffa which is where Fingal's Cave is. I did a tour that started in Fionnphort where I caught a tour for Staffa and Iona. We arrived on Staffa with plenty of time to go out to the cave and then sit on island and enjoy the day. It was a spectacularly beautiful day. We then took the boat back to Iona. On the way we saw tall ships and it was just plain beautiful. On Iona we had plenty of time to tour the abbey and the nunnery. On that day there were some issues with the ferry back to Mull (totally unrelated to 9/11 events.) I was staying in Tobermory and so drove down that AM and drove back up to Tobermory at the end of the day. For me, it was a perilous drive back, because of 9/11. But without tragedy you should be able to make the trip easily. I think that they also offer a tour from Oban that is a
"three island tour." I liked staying on Mull. Pam
