Has anyone successfully found a clean inexpensive hotel using HotelMap for Golden Tours? http://www.hotelmap.com/hotelmap/?pro=M9WKS
I'm not sure about Golden Tours, but I can tell you about our experience staying in London. We found an inexpensive hotel/hostel in the Bayswater Area. We stayed in the hotel side at around $140.00 USD per night. We had a modest but clean room on the third floor with twin beds, a private bath with tub and shower, in-room hot water for coffee/tea and a delicious breakfast. This is the Lancaster Hall Hotel at 35 Craven Terrace. It wasn't luxurious, but adequate and we would definitely stay there again! The only down side is that it is quite a ways from most attractions, but the Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate tube are both about a 10 minute walk away. From the tube you are about 20 minutes away from Big Ben/Westminster Abbey/Parliament and 40 minutes from Tower of London. We learned quickly how to utilize both the tube and busses. Bayswater Area is very safe - my daughter and I commented on how we would feel at ease even traveling and staying there alone. Google the Lancaster Hall Hotel and give it a try = we were very pleased!
