Ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo

We are going to Copenhagen (4 nights) and then Stockholm (5 nights). We would probably fly from CPH to STO. We were thinking of leaving Copenhagen one day early and take the overnight ferry to Oslo, and then fly from Oslo to Stockholm that same evening. We are thinking of doing this because we have never stayed overnight on a ferry/cruise, and so it would be a new experience. Plus, we have never seen Oslo, and we understand the view as you enter the Oslo fjord is very nice. But it also seems like it would add a lot of hassle. Is is worth it? Thanks.

It will not only add hassle, but also expense. How badly do you want to spend a day in Olso, to have the overnight ferry experience, and to see the Olsofjord view? Balance that against the extra cost, and that will determine your answer.

In a way Harold is right. The ferries aren't cheap. On the other hand, traveling the Baltic by sea is the way it was historically done. The best ferry ride, IMO, is into/out of Stockholm. I'd probably opt for a ferry to Helsinki and/or Tallinn rather than an overnight ferry. Oslo has a few sights worth seeing but will involve more travel time.
