Traveling from England to Northern Ireland by ferry early May. Do we need a reservation or can we just show up, buy a ticket and drive on?

I checked www.directferries.co.uk, but didn't find any reference to showing up without a reservation. You'll find a phone number on the Web site. An international call should give you the answer.
