Does anyone know if Westminster Abbey now has a fast track entry queue for London Pass holders? Also, is it crazy crowded on Saturdays? Morning better than afternoon? Thanks!
I have never waited in line there.
http://londonpass.com/how-it-works/skip-the-lines.html lists the queue skipping attractions including Westminster Abbey. The London Pass is rarely a bargain. I quit recommending it to anyone because of their misleading advertising. They list attractions that you can visit for free with the London Pass that you can visit for free WITHOUT the London Pass; National Gallery, All Hallows by the Tower, National Maritime Museum, National Portrait Gallery, and more. http://londonpass.com/london-attractions/index.html
Agree London Pass waste of money. No Fast Track entry I'm aware of. Did you check the Abbey's website? Abbey is always crowded but if I had to revisit I'd do it in the morning. http://www.westminster-abbey.org/faq
Too late! Already bought the pass:( I am really hoping the fast track entry to some of the major sites offsets the cost. Thanks!
Dianne, I hope you will post here of your experiences with the London Pass whether good or bad. Study the London Pass rules carefully to avoid disappointment. Note that you cannot return to an attraction and that there is a purse value, you can not claim more than £80 worth of admissions on a one day pass, £160 worth of admissions on a two day pass, etc. The London Pass makes better economic sense for solo travelers that can not take advantage of these 2 for 1 offers: http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/ I hope you have some days to take in the world class free sights; the British Museum, British Library, Imperial War Museum and much more.
Thanks everyone! I checked the Abbey's website, Claudia, and there was no mention, one way or the other, of a fast track entry with London Pass. So I clicked on 'contact us' and asked. And received a response almost right away. Sad to say, the answer is NO. I must queue up with everyone else.
I agree that the London Pass is only worth the money if you plan to visit at least 2-3 high priced sites every day. We got the 6 day pass and it actually saved us a significant amount of money. However, that was only because we were on the go, every day, seeing several sites each day. We're going back this summer and I'm not getting the Pass this time. If you already have the Pass, map out your sightseeing carefully. Try to bunch sites that are close together, such as Westminster, the Churchill museum, and all the sites around Buckingham palace. If you go to Windsor or Hampton Court, go early in the morning and be there prior to opening. That way, you can potentially see another site with the Pass later that day.
As far as Westminster, either first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon. Saturdays will be difficult at any time. If you get there early, at least the crowds inside are less.
