Family friendly budget accomodation in Dublin

Hi All, So I need some help! I need to find a family friendly budget accomodation (about $100 per night) for us (me,husband and toddler). I want to be as close as possible to the temple bar area (since I will have no car while in Dublin) but also want it to be quiet (since we'll be recovering from our jetlag- travelling from US).Included Breakfast + WiFi will be great! Can you suggest something? Trip advisor and other travel sites are so confusing!

If you don't mind a major "brand" hotel, you might look into the Best Western Academy Plaza. When we were there we had a decent sized room for a really good price. It is across the river from Temple Bar, but an easy walk. wi-fi worked great, and there were guest computers w/internet free in the lobby. Very nice desk staff, clean hotel, and relatively quiet.

I think you are going to really struggle Divya to deliver on that spec. I would suggest Jurys Inn in Christchurch, reasonably (?) priced, and very close to Temple Bar (not sure why you'd want to be close to Temple Bar but that's a different question). It might say that wifi is free but I stayed in Jurys in Belfast recently and they were charging for the wifi. Jurys Inn is right beside Dublin Castle, a short walk (10 minutes) from Trinity College, and on the same side of the city as Kilmainham Gaol. The Trinity Capital Hotel on Pearse Street is another one that would suit your requirements but you would need to check the prices for your chosen dates. There are lots of B&B's in Gardiner Street (not the most salubrious area but lots of tourists stay there) that would probably meet your requirement on the budget end and Gardiner Street isn't far from Temple Bar. Just google 'B&B Gardiner Street'. Enjoy your stay with us!!

Hello Divya, You don't give any dates so it's hard to give a firm answer but US$100 is running about 75 euros which might be tough sledding in a popular, convenient area of Dublin for a triple room. Also Temple Bar area is kind of like New Orleans on a weekend night. During the day and midweek it's quieter but it is very urban and adult oriented so I'm not sure what your experience would be like with a toddler. Just my US$.02. You might look into this place: The Townhouse 47-48 Lower Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, Ireland They are convenient to the Airporter bus route (you didn't specify how you were getting into the city) and are across the river from the Temple Bar area. They own several properties that have been put together so the room quality varies somewhat and the wifi works better in some areas than others but they have lounge where it always has good signal. The place has a bit of a step above backpackers knocking around Europe feel but we found it to hospitable with good service and value for money given how expensive Dublin can be especially with the dollar conversion. They have a nice little dining/sun room with a buffet style breakfast which I think is included if you book through their site. So I offer this recommendation with some caveats since you don't specify what you're looking for beyond price. If you're more specific about dates or plans or have questions about certain places maybe people can offer more specific help. Good luck,
