I will arrive at Euston Station at 10:57. I have a train from Kings Cross at 11:35. What is the best way to get from Euston to Kings Cross. I will have my small wheeled suitcase and a carry on bag.
Walk if this poses no challenge for you. Both stations are on the same side of the Euston road, less than a mile apart. Technically they are 1 minute apart by Victoria Line but there is a long way up & down at either end.
According to the Journey Planner on the Transport for London site, it's a ten-minute walk between the stations. Using the Underground it's a one-minute ride on either the Victoria Line or the Northern Line from Euston to King's Cross/St Pancras. Because you'll have to go below ground, buy a ticket, wait for the next train, take the ride, and then go above ground, walking probably will be faster.
Thank you for your replies.
Unless it is pelting down rain I will walk.
It's actually just over 1/3 of a mile, and an easy and pleasant walk.
Thanks.
I am a good walker so 1/3 mile should be no issue.
Tfl estimate the walking time as 12 minutes - probably because there are a number of streets to cross.
Or, because you are going from Euston to KX, instead of the other way, another very easy way is to pop out the front door of Euston Station (take a deep breath before stepping outside as there will be crowds of smokers just outside) and hop on virtually any of the buses in the first rank of buses. Have your Oyster Card handy as they don't sell tickets on the bus, or use one of the several yellow ticket machines next to the buses. There is a continuous flow of buses going that way, on several routes. Don't bother getting settled. The first stop is outside the British Library and is convenient to St Pancras Station. The second stop is outside Kings Cross Station and is convenient both for there and St Pancras. Hop off, you're there. Total time: maybe 5 minutes from stepping off the train (allow it to be a few minutes late, sometimes there is congestion but not usually mid morning), more or less, to get to the bus station outside. More if you travel in on London Midland and arrive at platforms 8 to 11 because of the ticket barriers, less if not those platforms or Virgin Trains. A couple of minutes waiting for the next bus and digging out your Oyster Card or buying a ticket. 5 to 8 minutes on the bus. 5 minutes finding your train at KX. Maybe 20 minutes altogether? Just BTW - it is harder to use the bus going the other way, from KX to Euston, because you have to cross Euston road twice.
Don't get the bus if you're travelling now or within the next couple of weeks - there's construction work outside Kings Cross station and it's messing the bus stops up.
Thanks everyone. Since it is so close I will walk.
I appreciate everyone's replies.
