Is this the best option to get from London to Paris and back
In my opinion it is unless you are starting from an airport in London.
I agree with Laura. Book ASAP (up to 120 days allowed) at eurostar.com to get the lowest fare. Discount fare tickets sell out rather quickly and last-minute tickets are pricey.
Hi, Yes, it is indeed the cheapest, provided you do the 120 days in advance booking, the most convenient, and the quickest way (2hrs and 15 mins), ie., from train station to train station, without having to go out to the airports or the ferry port towns, ie., Folkestone, Calais, Dover, Boulogne, etc.
Yes, I agree with Tim...book ASAP for the best prices. Have fun!!
Just to emphasize Laura's point. It is definitely best, provided you are not already at an airport! I repeatedly see questions from people flying into Heathrow from the US, trying to connect to the Eurostar to get to Paris on arrival day. Don't do this - fly from Heathrow to Paris. But, in all other cases, you can't beat Eurostar. Less than 2 and a half hours from city center to city center - what's not to like? Also note, you have to be checked in one half hour before departure; unlike most other trains, you can't show up 10 seconds (or even 10 minutes) before the train leaves.
Thanks. We have booked!
