England Itinerary for 2 Weeks in June - Feedback?

Any brief insights on this itinerary would be much-appreciated. We've been to Italy a few times, and to Spain, but England is new:

-Fly Chicago to Heathrow; bus to Bath
-3 nights Bath including day trip to Stonehenge/nearby villages
-Train to Cotswolds
-2 nights Stow-on-the-Wold including exporation of Cotswolds villages and a day trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon
-Train to London
-5 nights London, including a day trip to Brighton
-Train London to Keswick (Lakes District)
-3 nights Keswick including hiking Lakes District and guided tour/day trip of mountain passes
-Fly home Manchester to Chicago

THANKS!

The # of days in each is good. But you can't get from Bath to Stow by train, or from London to Keswick by train, or from Keswick to Manchester by train. Moreton-on-Marsh is the only town in the Cotswolds (or one of the very few) with a train station; and even if you train to Moreton, how are you planning to get to Stow, or exploring the Cotswolds without a rental car or hooking up with a tour? You can get to Keswick by coach (the Queen's English for long distance bus). As an alternative, consider this:Fly into London and do your days in London first (eliminates the back-tracking from Cotswolds to London and then back to Keswick)Train to BathPick up a rental car in Bath on either your first or last day in Bath, depending on whether you want to drive to Stonehenge, etc or take a tourDrive from Bath to Stow and use the car to explore the CotswoldsldsDrive to KeswickDrive to Manchester airport

Thanks, Kent! Very helpful. Appreciate it. Do you have any thoughts on this? I tried to keep my question short, so left out details: we're taking the train from Bath to Moreton-in-Marsh, then have hired a Cotswolds taxi to meet us at the station to take us to our hotel in Stow (and the same thing going out, on our way to London. As for the train to Keswick, it's actually to the closest station to Keswick, followed by a local bus for 35 minutes to Keswick. And then on the early AM of departure, a private taxi transfer from our hotel in Keswick to Manchester, about two hours drive and costing about 100 pnds. Does that in any way impact your counsel, or not really? THANKS!

Hi Gio: Yes, it changes my advice. Your plan as clarified in your 2nd post, makes sense, you've got it covered.

I would want a daytrip to Oxford while in London. You can take a bus there quickly and inexpensively.

My other favorite place that you won't see is York but that seems to be a little out of range.

I think this itinerary sounds fantastic. All great places and nice amount of time in each. When were in Bath, we took a day trip to Wells and Glastonbury. I love Glastonbury, and Wells has a beautiful cathedral. Have fun!

I'd consider a day or 1/2 day trip to Windsor while in London. It is a nice place and Windsor castle is one of our favorites. You can do a shor tcruise down the Thames for a different view of the town. Stroll over to Eton, too while you are there.
