England's Lakes District

We are meeting another couple and looking for accommodations in the Lakes District around May 23 for 5 days. Could someone suggest a nice B and B or maybe a cottage to rent? Thanks.

A couple of years ago we stayed at Badger's Wood Guest House in Keswick, http://www.badgers-wood.co.uk/. We liked the location, room, and breakfast. Keswick is in the northern part of the Lake District, less populated than further south and not as convenient for Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter fans.

We stayed at the Abacourt House, Keswick in 2011. John & Heather are great hosts and run a clean, quiet place in a perfect location. Keswick has eveything we need in the Lake District. We would return here in an instant! Bob

Summerhill Country House listed as Ambleside, but actually closer to Hawkshead Hill is wonderful. They have a number of rooms, so should be no problem gettin two rooms. Rated #2 of B&Bs in Ambleside. I would definitely recommend a town other than Keswick as a base. Keswick is larger but not particularly picturesque. You will spend quite a bit of time around Keswick as many of the walks/drives are around that part of the District.
