Emails to B&Bs in IE for a single traveler

Hello. I have sent a few emails to various B&Bs throughout
IE and have not heard back from them in about 4 days.
Has anyone had the same experience? I am wondering if
they are not excited about singles and are waiting to see if can book a double? I am getting anxious because I am leaving in about 35 days and do not have any rooms booked yet.

Yes, it is a common practice for B&B's that if they are full, closed or prefer not on your request dates they do not respond. I suggest you look elsewhere now.

I have found that if you find some place you really want to stay give them a phone call. It is relatively inexpensive and gives you a chance to speak to them one on one.

I've never had a problem getting responses from B&Bs if it is during their open season. Many B&Bs have single rooms, so that's not likely to be the problem, either. Try them again -- I know I get anxious when I don't get quick responses, too, but other people don't seem to be the same way.

I was having a problem not hearing back from some hotels in Paris until I used a different email address. I heard back from every place I tried using my work email; our email at home is through Yahoo. It obviously wasn't a problem with all places, as I did get some responses through the yahoo address.

Rachel,I always phone to book B & B accommodation overseas before we leave. The cost, even from Australia, is negligible. Also it's a good opportunity to touch base with your hosts before you arrive.
