Has anyone stayed here? The reviews on Trip Advisor pretty bad, but Rick Steves has it in his book, so....is everyone just being really picky? This is the Elizabeth House in London (not elizabeth hotel) London is really expensive! Any suggestions for other places to stay? (Sept. 10, 11, 12) Thanks!

We were in London the end of June and stayed at Merlyn Court Hotel (www.merlyncourthotel.com) and will stay there again if/when I visit London. The price was right, the facility was clean and comfortable, Luciana and staff were so warm and friendly. We were a party of 4, and had one room with private bath. Including breakfast and tax, it was 95 pounds per night. The location was perfect - 5 minute walk to Earls Court Station and the neighborhood was lovely. We did have to climb 4 flights of stairs to our room, so if you have heavy bags, that will be rough. I've seen some complaints about breakfast on different sites, but it was fine - tea (or coffee), cereal and toast. Plenty of places to eat or purchase groceries within a 5 minute walk.

Poor reviews on Rick's site too, check Graffitti Wall. We were hoping to stay there this Oct. as well, until we read the reviews.

Be careful you are not confusing Elizabeth house with Elizabeth Hotel. They are nearby but different.
