I plan on staying in edinburgh for two months, but solo. Can anyone recommend the safest, but not comatose part of town.

The most touristy areas are the Royal Mile and New Town near Prince's street. I like the area near the Royal Botanic Gardens as it is a it quieter, but it is. A quick bus ride into town. You could also look a bit further to the west near Murrayfield. Easy access to the Haymarket RR Station. South of the Royal Mile is the University and there are some good places there. Actually, nothing is very far away in Edinburgh. If you find a place and you think it might be unsafe, post on TripAdvisor. There are some great local DE 's who can help you. Pam
