Can anyone recommend lodging in Edinburgh nearby the castle? We prefer small as opposed to large establishments as they are cozier. Thanks!

Search for B&B's on the web. Location and price are determining factors. Pretty much everything is within walking distance in the historical area.

Are you ready to spend some money? If so, check out the Witchery. ; ) Do you want to be near the Castle so you don't have to walk so far? Or is there another reason that you want that location? Edinburgh is not a big place. You can find places that are a 15-20 minute walk--or a 5-10 minute bus ride that are out of the hub bub of the Royal Mile. I like the Inverleith Hotel near the Royal Botanic Gardens. Pam
