Greetings!

The Fringe, and Edinburgh in August in general, is quite an adventure. Lots of people, lots of things to do and a more than a bit of chaos. Not always the best time to be living in the city, but great for being a tourist.

If you are thinking about this summer, you need to get housing ASAP because there are more bodies than beds in Edinburgh during August.

The Fringe schedule won't be released for a few months, but most shows don't sell out. Thus, the best thing is to decide on a time period, get a place to stay, and then wait for the catalog. You'll have your choice of everything from theatre to music to dance to things that can hardly be described. And they'll be at all times of the day, so you can keep going almost 24 hr 7.

You can also time your visit to see the Tattoo (few tickets still available), the International Festival, the Book Festival (but not the movie festival which is now in June) etc.

Have fun!
Kate
