I've not done this show, but I did do one in Fort William. The one in Fort William was a bit kitschy, but we enjoyed it. This one is at Prestonfield, a very high end hotel. Rick comments on it directly in his guidebook, "Prestonfield House offers its kitschy Scottish folk evening--a plaid fantasy of smiling performers accompanied by electric keyboards--with or without dinner Sunday to Friday. For 40 pounds you get the show with two drink sand a wad of haggis. 51 pounds buys you the same plus a four course meal and wine. It is in the stables of 'the handsomest house in Edinburgh.' The restaurant in the hotel, Rhubarb, has an excellent reputation.

I went to this show in 2003. It was in a large tent-like structure next to Prestonfield House. It was a big room full of coach tourists and was pretty awful. I wouldn't waste my time or money.

If you want a bit of Scottish music why not check out the Sessions at Sand's Bells. Also look at the online Gig guide for other live music. Pam
