Arriving that late, I'd suggest staying at one of the hotels near the airport,like the Holiday Inn Express. There should be shuttle service to/from hotel. Next morning take the Nat'l Express bus that shuttles between Stansted & Heathrow. The 8:00 AM bus gets you to LHR at about 9:30 AM. Costs is about £23.

Jury's Inn has a Heathrow area hotel. It gets used by a lot of flight crews. Like the Sofitel and many other hotels, it's on the Hoppa shuttle bus line(four pounds one way.) It's about half the price of the Sofitel, and since you are just looking for a place to lay your head I'd go for clean and comfortable over fancy. They have a restaurant and bar onsite, but they're merely adequate and I don't know if they would be open when you get it. One advantage of the Jury's Inn over some of the other airport hotels is that it is a reasonable walk away from a Tube station that takes you directly to Heathrow Airport. The price is about the same as using the Hoppa bus, but it's usually a good bit quicker than the interminable multi-hotel stopping Hoppa bus if you don't mind the block-long walk to get to the station. (The Tube price is a good bit cheaper if you have an Oyster Card, but I am assuming you won't.)

There's also the Yotel located in Terminal 4 at Heathrow. You pay depending on how long you stay..... www.yotel.com

I just stayed at the Yotel last month. It was surprisingly comfortable. Yes, the room was tiny but it was perfectly laid out, the bathroom was squeaky clean, the shower was one of those terrific rain-shower ones, and the big screen tv across from the bed had a handy alarm function. The only problem might be getting all the way to Terminal 4 after a 10 pm flight into Stansted. I'm not sure you could make it before the Tube and busses packed up for the night.
