Early morning transport to Heathrow

Hi,

Some months ago I posted a question here about getting to Heathrow early in the morning: we have a 755am flight, so we'll need to be dropped off 5am or so. Based on the advise offered at the time, I opted to remain in London the night before our flight and use Sky Shuttle to get to Heathrow. Well, our trip is less than two weeks away, and now it seems that Sky Shuttle has ceased operating! Given that we committed to staying in London the night before, any other ideas or suggestions for getting from London (Southwark) to Heathrow at such an early hour? Thanks.

Your hotelier should be able to arrange a car pick up and give you an estimate how much it would cost. From the largest commercial hotels to the smallest B&Bs, I find the desk staff have inevitably done this for hundreds of guests and can make arrangements with a company that they use frequently and trust to get you there on time.

A private car service will be cheaper than a taxi. Lots of people on the Fodor's board recommend Just Airports. There is a discount for paying cash. The cash fare from anywhere in Postal Code SE1 to Heathrow is 29 GBP for a saloon (sedan), 33 GBP for an estate (station wagon), and 41 GBP for a MPV (minivan).

I'd opt for the private car service, too. Money well spent. Let the hotel book it and give yourself plenty of time.
