Does anyone have a recommendation for a b & b in Bunratty, also restaurant for early dinner the nite before?
Thanks
There are a number of B&Bs on the Bunratty road (between Bunratty castle and Durty Nelly's pub). We stayed at Dunedin Lodge, and the host was full of stories about the area. Durty Nelly's is a possibility for dinner. They have full dinners downstairs and sandwiches and such upstairs. The upstairs bar area is covered with shoulder patches from American police, fire, and rescue squads.
We stayed with Frank and Sheila at Ashgrove House back in 2004, and are excited to be returning there this October. It is walking distance to Bunratty Castle and the Creamery - which is a good eating place. Frank tells wonderful stories and we found that Sheila sings beautiful ballads when they took us to the pub in Bunratty Folk Park. They will also get you set up for banquet or Traditional Night at Bunratty Castle.
I second the Creamery! Great food and fairly good prices.
