Can anyone give advice on if you feel that this particular area is pretty safe? thank you.
I am also looking for a good short let, 11 days, for the south west end of london near a tube if anyone has recommendations. thx, Theresa

I live near here. It really depends on what you mean by safe. I don't feel it's a particularly dangerous area, but you do get some dodgy types hanging around Ealing Broadway tube station and you certainly need to be streetwise at night. It's certainly not like some of the areas of south London and I enjoy wandering around Ealing, but it is still part of a city with all the risks that entails. I think what I am trying to say is that really depends on your level of streetwise-ness (is that a word?!) and experience of cities. If you are comfortable wandering around central London I think you'll be comfortable wandering around that area.
