You're probably trying to book during Spring Break...just look outside of town...there are tons of B & Bs everywhere...don't worry.

My aunt and uncle and I stayed in an apt. when we visited Durham. It may be a bit bigger than you need but you can see it at: http://www.ukholidayplaces.co.uk/Apartment/Durham/DurhamCityApartmentFreemansQuay_91147269.html. It's located right in the city center and comes with parking in an underground gargage. It was a beautiful place to stay.

Have you read this article? It gives a lot of interesting information about Durham. We had hoped to visit there last summer, but unfortunately didn't have enough time since we only had four days in north-east England.
