Tony, That's a bit of a "broad" question. It would help to have some idea on what type of sights you're interested in??? There are suggestions in the Guidebook, but a few to consider: > Kilmainham Gaol - very interesting part of Irish history. Used in the movies Sins of the Father and the earlier movie The Italian Job (which starred Michael Caine). > Local Walking Tours - Guidebook has listings for local Guides. > Trinity College / Library & the Book of Kells > Guinness Brewery tour, St. James Gate - not everyone feels this is a worthwhile sight to visit, but I found it interesting and sure enjoyed a fresh pint in the greenhouse-like Gravity Bar at the end of the tour. > Temple Bar district - great place for Pubs and music > Hop On / Hop Off Bus tour > Day trips You shouldn't have any trouble finding things to do in Dublin! Happy travels!

Agree you will find plenty of things to do. Think you can get a day trip to Newgrange, well worth it, we had car and did not stay in Dublin City for any of our trips. None of us really liked Guinness tour but all did like the Gaol but it was bone chilling cold inside but well worth it, have been several times and seem to learn something new each time. Movie was In the name of the Father, actually filmed inside, true story, powerful. We enjoyed walking over the Half Penny (sp?) bridge and seeing the GPO, Cathedral and Book of Kells. Use Hop On Hop Off Bus. Our first time there as novices, we walked all over, waste of time. We walked from the Gaol to Trinity College because my brother said over and over again, it can't be that much further! LOL, when we got to college, sitting on steps rubbing my feet, guard said why? Told him what we had just done, he just shook his head and said no one does that, bus would have cost pennies! Enjoy.

Hotel: The Clarion at IFSC. Why? Great hotel, reasonably priced. Perfect location. You can take the airport bus directly to the hotel's front door. €6 one-way per person or €10 roundtrip. The hotel is directly at the Liffey (waterfront) with walking distance to ALL downtown sights. The restaurant (Kudos) is GREAT! The Luas (tram) station is 200 yards from the hotel. A grocery store is between the hotel and the Luas station. You can get rooms with a big balcony at no additional charge... I love it. I'm a frequent visitor to Dublin (for business reasons) and I always stay there - and take it personal if they're fully booked and I have to attend to my plan B, which is the Radisson Blu Golden Mile.
