Dublin restaurants and pubs

Spending 6 nights in Dublin in September. Looking for restaurant recommendations at every price range - preferable a place that is very unique to Dublin. Would also like pub recommendations.

I would prefer off the beaten path or non tourist trap places - especially places that you guys have been to. I can read a guide book and look at recs but I'd love to get personal experiences. Feel free to include places to avoid as well.

Thanks!

Bewley's on Grafton St isn't exactly off the beaten path, but they have wonderful soup, served with a big piece of crusty bread.

A place that is maybe a little different, in the Temple Bar area, is the Bad Ass Cafe. It's a pizza place where Sinead O'Connor was a waitress years ago, built in an old warehouse building.

We'll be there in 45 days and hope a lot more people respond. I love recommendations!

We enjoyed Gallagher's Boxty House in Temple Bar. It is very unique to Dublin, the food was delicious and there was live music there when we went in April.

Pubs are a great place to go for food in Ireland. They serve hearty meals at reasonable prices. My wife and I enjoyed a meal at Brazen Head. It's supposedly the oldest pub in Dublin, and it looked it. For us, that was good. It had character. But others might prefer a more quiet, brightly lit space.

The Brazen Head is a great place for a drink (or drinks) and some live music.

Hi, we really liked the "Stags Head", it's really beautiful inside and one of the older pubs.

The Old Stand, 37 Exchequer Street. It gets crowded when locals get off work, but if you get a seat before that you can enjoy some great, reasonably priced food. Always friendly service, too, in my experience.

Cassidys Bar, 27 Westmoreland St., near the O'Connell Street Bridge, has a great bar menu. Excellent Irish Lamb Stew.

Lots of the pubs have good, inexpensive food, but these are two of my favorites in Dublin.
