Dublin - Recommendation for a good overnight place for family of 5?

Hi, We have a good 24 hours in Dublin, arriving at 1:30pm and leaving the next day at 1:30pm for the airport flight at 5. We have 5 people in our family and I'd love to hear your recommendations for a place to stay for the 5 of us? thanks so much!

We stayed in a couple of places with our family of 4. We stayed at the Bewley's hotel by the airport. The room we had could squeeze in 5. They have a free shuttle to the airport, but there's nothing else around it except for the airport. We paid somewhere around 85 euro/night. The other place we stayed at the other end of our trip was Brookman Townhomes. The one we stayed in had 3 bedrooms. They were tiny, but it fit 5 a double bed in one room, 2 twins in another, and one twin in the last. It costs a little more, around 120 euro/night. It's in a suburb right outside of city center, only 10 minutes to ride into town, but farther from the airport.

Thanks Maureen, I think we'll check into the last one you mentioned. We want to walk around the city a bit before we leave:)

Forgot to add the website, it's www.brookman.ie. They also give you a "welcome basket", with bread, jelly, cereal, things like that. For heading into town for the day, get a family card. There's 2 grocery stores in the neighborhood where you can get one. It costs 10 euro and covers 2 adults and 4 kids on the buses all day.

When is your trip? If you are travelling in the summer, you may want to check the availability at Trinity College. They offer accommodation during the summer to tourists in their dorms and campus apartments which includes breakfast. It's a prime location as you are right there in the center of Dublin and can walk to everything and easily get transportation to the airport if you have already returned a rental car. If you aren't going during the summer, Grafton Guesthouse on South Great George's Street has a penthouse suite that sleeps up to 6. They also include a breakfast in the rate and the hotel is very centrally located and an easy walk to Trinity, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar & Grafton Street. Neither Trinity College nor Grafton Guesthouse have an elevator, so if there is anyone in your family who can't handle stairs, look elsewhere for accommodation.
