Does anyone know if museums/attractions are open on St Patrick's Day in Dublin? Or is the Parade the event of the day? I tried to google a website for events that day and found nothing listed yet.

Oh, yes! There's lots going on! Go to www.visitdublin.com , which is the official website for Dublin tourism. It is a fantastic website - very user-friendly. The "Festival Fever" tab is helpful, and there is a calendar of events, too, where you just select the dates you will be in Dublin and get a listing of everything that is available. The Saint Patrick's Day festival, by the way, is a 6-day-long event! But there is so much to see and do in Dublin, you could be there a month and not see it all!

One word on St. Pat's day festivities, in my experience nothing started on time which is very Irish, just be aware of it when you're there.
