My Husband and I are thinking about taking a short trip to Dublin in the beginning of March. What is the weather like? If this is a really bad time for weather there we may just skip the trip. What are your thoughts?
I've been there in late February (twice) and April (once). You can expect changeable, wet weather at almost any time in Ireland. One of my February trips was warm, and one was damp with one really cold day. In April, we had cold winds one day, misty rain (soft weather) one day, and sun the rest of the time. There's just no way to be certain what the weather will be like at any given time. It's not likely to be as cold as it would be in Illinois at that time of year, probably very much like what you could expect in the Nashville area. No matter what time of year you need to go prepared for some rain.
Thank you Nancy...that seems like a good explination of the weather for that time of year. Thanks!
Here's the best weather site for weather prognostication more than a couple of weeks out

You input location and time span, time span up to 2 weeks; and it gives you the last 10 years of weather, nicely summarized.
I wouldn't hesitate to go in March if that's when it fits your schedule. You might get rain, but if so then you can just focus on indoor sites, which in a city is probably what you'd be focusing on anyway.
Just remember to bring layers as the weather is very changeable and adding or subtracting layers may be necessary. It's not about the parka as much as it's about jackets, sweaters, and shirts that you can mix and match with.
If you decide to go, get out of Dodge before the 17th.
