Dublin early morning flight

Hello! I have read that for flights from Dublin to the U.S. it is recommended to be at the ariport at least 3 hours before the flight. We have a 5:45 am flight to Frankfurt. Does anyone know what a comfortable lead time would be for our departure? Jerry

Have you checked with the airline's recommendations? Since Frankfurt is Schengen and Ireland is non-Schengen, you will go through passport control before leaving Ireland (meaning more time). I'm sure you don't need 3 hours, and the airport may not even be open that early, but don't cut it too close.

The time for the USA is early because there is pre-clearance to go through, in the same manner as at a number of Canadian airports. Aer Lingus for one recommends 2.5 hours for their flights to Frankfurt, with a minimum of 45 minutes. If they aren't your carrier, check-up with whoever is.
