Dublin car rental?

I will be traveling to Ireland soon. After two nights in Dublin, I plan to rent a car and drive to Kinsale. Can anyone recommend a car rental company in Dublin, with good customer service and reasonable prices? Also, is there any benefit from renting at the airport as opposed to within the city?

Have you looked in to getting a train from Dublin to Cork and then hiring a car to get you to Kinsale? Train will get you to Cork in a little less then 3 hours. I have used Enterprise in the past and have been happy with the service. I like the fact they will pick up and drop off. http://www.enterprise.ie/car_rental/home.do I would not recommend getting a car in Dublin city centre..just not worth the headache.

I have only rented a car in Ireland once. It was with Dan Dooley. We drove from Shannon to Dublin over the course of a week and had no problems picking up the car or dropping it off. I did notice that some car companies in Ireland are starting to give travelers the option to buy the CDW insurance before you leave at a reduced cost. It might be worth looking into. Evan

I used Autoeurope. They are a consolidator and are based in the U.S. We rented our car at the Dublin Airport when we arrived, and dropped it back of at the airport before spending a few days in Dublin. The only benefit I can see to renting at the airport is avoiding the city traffic.

I have used Dan Dooley, but I prefer Irish Car Rental. They have always had the best rates when I have been looking. Renting within Dublin means that you have to deal with Dublin traffic, which I will never do again (after doing it twice before). Renting at the airport means there will be an airport pickup charge with most companies.
