Dublin and Cork Ireland Accomodation Suggestions

Greetings, I am planning a trip to Ireland in September of this year and am needing to book overnight accomodations in Dublin and Cork. I'm looking for hotel or B&B recommendations that would be in the $75 to $100 per night price range for two people per room. Thanks in advance for all feedback. Kathy

My husband and I going to Dublin March and booked with the Grafton Capital Hotel for 58 euro per night. Every review on Tripadvisor has been very good and I have had a couple friends stay there as well. I have heard it can be a bit noisy, but the location is fantastic. We will also be in Cork for a night and we booked at the Hayfield Manor Hotel. It was a bit pricier at $180 for the night but it looks absolutely beautiful.

2013 is The Gathering in Ireland and expect more tourists than usual. Dublin will prove difficult for $75 - $100 but get on line and check out Bewleys's in Ballsbridge, Grand Canal Hotel, Cassidy's or Camden Court Hotel. There are a few hostels for $45 a night that are adequate but sometimes noisy, such as The Times Hostel in Camden. In Cork, I have only used The River Lee Hotel and really liked it.
The Irish Tourist Board in each larger city can always help with B&B's. They are a plenty in Kilkenny and Killarny if you go in that direction. www.reserveabandb.com

Thanks Mary and Coby for your feedback to my inquiry. Both are helpful and I will check out hotels, B&B's and URL's provided. Kathy

Hi Kathy, In addition to "The Gathering", be aware that the All Ireland Hurling final is on the Sunday the 8th of September and the All Ireland Football final is on the 22nd of September, so if you are in Dublin those weekends, it will also be more difficult to find accommodation. Jim.

Dublin; check out the Trip Advisor reviews on these two B&B's;
Quince Cottage, and Beech Lodge. Both should fit your needs.

Two recommendations: for Dublin, look at the Townhouse Hotel in Lower Gardiner Street, on the North side of the Liffey. Very reasonably priced, clean, well-managed, and warmly hospitable. Good, ample breakfast, and the hotel is in easy walking-distance of the sights. We arrived at dawn expecting to just our bags, but they had a room ready for us 5 star service! In Cork we stayed at the Garnish Guesthouse which lived up to the glowing reviews. Just across from the University College Cork, and a 10-minute stroll from the center of town with the English Market, restaurants, etc. The breakfast was "brilliant," the hospitality really exceptional. Our only regret was that we had only one night (and one breakfast!). Have a wonderful time.

Waterloo Lodge in Dublin has Double/Twin for €89.00 per night. Our family stayed there last May and it met our needs quite well. There is also a bus stop right out the front door.
