I have found that trip advisor is a great resource to start at. if you see 2 or 3 places you like, then you can reserach those independently from that point. www.tripadvisor.com
I just ran the info: Dublin: under $50 without putting dates in and it gave me "Abbey Court"/
** also, www.laterooms.com has some deals as well
(i found the best airfare for my flight by checking continually with tripadvisor....$650 RT!)

dont be put off by the word "hostel"--these sites let you search budget hotels, guesthouses, B&B's, and apartments as well...

They have rooms for 19L at times, if booked early. There are 4 in Dublin.
