Dublin

Hello,

I will be taking my first ever overseas trip to Dublin in July. I am going to see U2 perform, and am very nervous/excited. One of the things I'm concerned about is transportation. Where can I purchase a week long DART pass? My hotel isnt as close to the city center as I would like, so I figure I will be making more use out of a bus pass, than a LUAS pass. Also, would it be better to get my money exchange done at the airport, or should I wait till I find a bank in town?
Cheers and thanks for the advice!

Get cash from an ATM at the airport, you get a much better exchange rate.

John,

Banks generally have a better exchange rate than airport branches, so I'd wait until I get into town.

As for the DART, I believe you can buy your pass at the first station that you come across in your travels.

Enjoy the show.

I didn't bother exchanging money, I just got some cash from an ATM. That's just me, though. :-) Other folks may prefer going to a bank. Have a great time at the concert - it sounds like fun!

Awesome, thanks for the help! How did you all find DART to be? Was it reliable, or a hassle?
Thanks

Awesome! How cool is that to see U2 in Dublin! The DART is great. We rode it for a week, and found it to be reliable. You can get your pass at any station--DART has a website with map of all station locations. I hope you have a great time!

Just got back from Dublin 2 days ago. Our hotel was a few blocks from the O2, and is about a 15 min walk to the city center. So, if your hotel is close to the arena, the Dart is useful, but you can use the Dublin bus as well.

Transportation is easy in Dublin... but you may find it faster to walk as traffic is terrible
