If I were to drive to Holyhead with intentions of taking the ferry to Dublin, is it possible to drop the car off somewhere there (I guess it depends on the rental agency... I have no idea though). Then when the ferry docks in Ireland, how do I get into the centre of Dublin (where everyone tells me not to bring a car) - is there easy/cheap bus service?

i'm assuming you will be getting off the ferry in dun laoghaire, in which case the DART (local train) will take you right into the city centre. get off at pearse, tara or connelly stations, depending on where you are headed next. there are also buses which are not much cheaper and for sure not as easy! don't know anyhting about rental cars in Wales though, sorry!
