Does anyone know any car rental companies that allow drivers that are under 25 years to rent cars in Ireland? So far, I've only found one--Dan Dooley. Has anyone rented a car from them before, and how was the experience?
Thanks for your help!
Try Auto Europe. Their site says that there may be an extra fee for drivers under 25.
I'm under 25 as well, and so far most rental companies I've looked at allow drivers under 25 (Hertz does not, from what I remember). However, they do all seem to tack on an additional fee for young drivers, something like 12 euros/day. Also, I've noticed that some companies have restrictions on the kind of car you can rent - no vans or larger cars. I'm still working on finding the best price, but Avis, Dan Dooley, Budget are some I'm considering.
We just got back, and after alot of research and suggestions from people here, we rented from Budget. If they rent to you under 25, you still will have to also pay for CDW which was not quoted on the original price they gave for the rental, so you need to add that in to compare prices (which I did, and they still were the cheapest when I was doing my research). We also landed up getting the Super CDW that covers any damage to the entire car except the tires. You are responsible for them. We landed up not needing the extra protection, but I talked to a lady that had dented her car and lost her rearview mirror on the second day. She also had to buy a new tire, so I guess it was worth it for her. I saw a guy duct taping his rearview mirror on at our last B&B.
