Going by the number of times I got lost when I moved back here after a 25 year absence- I'd rather drive!

Get a GPS or IPhone map program. England can be really hard to navigate without it.

I didn't mention I rather drive as well. I couldn't stand all the screaming. Sorry Toni, maybe when I get too old to drive I'll take the train. Right now trains just don't go where I want to and the driver can't hear me yelling at him any road.

I have driven in England for weeks at a time...without a GPS or Ipod touch and never found in had to navigate. I truly love driving, by driving you can go to all the tiny quaint villages that you would miss by train.

"in 100 meters there is a roundabout, take the second exit."

If you are a male going with a spouse be prepared to do both. but get a GPS and figure out how to use it.

I found driving easier on the third day as we were retuning the car. Take extra shirts and antipersperant you will be sweating buckets as you drive.

Driving in England is so much fun, after the first couple hours you will be used to driving. Just take your time and the roundabouts are great..so easy to use.
