This is what we are doing one sunday. We will go through the cotswolds. that will be the day. We are interested in seeing the Cotswolds although obviously not in depth. Is there a route that is particularly good or a town that is particularly recommended to drive through? We figure the drive should take about four hours with stops - I think it's only about seventy miles but we figure we will go slow and meander.
Polly,
If you're looking for the "quaint" towns, here are a few of the more well known that we enjoyed, listed in a southerly order from Stratford. Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stanton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water. Further south near Bath is Castlecomb and Lacock. These are all listed in Ricks books.
As for driving time, if you're driving mostly the small roads, figure that you will only travel about 35 miles in an hour and add your stopping time to that.
