Wine, spirits, soft drinks, tea, coffee, mineral water. Depending on the type of pub you may even be able to get a cocktail or a fruit smoothie. I don't think there are many pubs that only serve beer.

Hi Lyn, you can have a coke, tea most anything. No one will think anything of it that you don't order a beer. I do not drink so when my husband gets a beer and order a coke. You will have to go up to the bar and order your drinks, they do not take orders at your table.

Lyn

As people say you can get most things in pubs nowadays.

Let me recommend a couple. The George Inn in Southwark is interesting. More details here

It is a few minutes from London Bridge Station and also in the area is Borough Market, which is worth a visit.

About an hours walk along the river, or a short tube ride, is the Mayflower. Some people called the Pilgrim Fathers set off from near here in 1620. I often wonder what happened to them :-)

The back garden is a jetty over the river with great views.

Finally, and more centrally, The Lamb and Flag in Covent Garden is worth a visit.

Charles Dickens used to drink here, as he did at the George Inn. Not sure when he found the time to write all those books.

Have a good trip

You might try a half pint of cider (it has alcohol).

Half? Why not go wild and have a whole pint, you are on holiday!

If you like wine, there's the Ebury Wine Bar. It also has excellent food. Pricey, but if you want to splurge... :)

Read about one called Vinopolis, I think? Are you familiar with that one?

My friend hates beer but loved the cider over there. Try a Strongbow or Bulmers. Or a shandy, there is some beer in it but it tastes great!

You can also ask for a shandy while in a pub. It's half-beer and half-carbonated lemonade or gingerale. It's quite good, and you can ask it to be prepared with less beer (like 30% beer, 70% other).

It's very refreshing.
