Hello! I am really excited to see the Dover Castle, but I am trying to figure out the length of time we need there because our hotel in France will only hold our hotel so late in the day. Any suggestions of length of time needed to see the castle and tunnels? Thank you!
We always take probably twice as long as many people do - we look at everything! I think we were there @4 hours, which included lunch.
The separate tour of the tunnels takes an extra 45 mins to 1 hour, in addition to whatever time you spend seeing the castle.
I agree with the other post. We did it last May, bank holiday, Saturday and it was a "Living Castle Day" It was great. The secret war time tunnels are worth it, just get there when it opens and reserve the first tour for the tunnels and do that first. Without the "Living Castle Day", I think you could well see everything in 3 hours. We took 5 hours, but there were many special exhibits be took our time to see set up all around the castle grounds and we ate lunch there too.
