Do you like Kensington Knightsbridge area for accomodation...or?

What's your favorite area to stay in? What area would you stay away from? Do you like Kensington-Chelsea-Knightsbridge?

  1. If money is no object I would want to stay somewhere near Russell Square/Oxford Street/Bond Street etc. Somewhere just outside Leicester Square. Might be fun to do Notting Hill also. Money has always has been an issue so I end up staying normally near Kings Cross/Euston to save money.

  2. While I like the South Bank from a price standpoint, I have never been fond of it for tube access. I am not a huge fan of the docks or the city areas either. I feel isolated in those areas.

  3. Kensington-Chelsea-Knightsbridge are nice areas. Very posh and very nice accomodation. Harrods is in Knightsbridge for instance. You have all the Museums nearby and are with in easy walking distance of Hyde Park.

My one watch out here though is beware of hotels that seem to be more than they really are. Companies fit hotels into a block of old row houses. The outside and lobby are top notch but rooms are old and dated.

Millenium Bailey's Hotel
Kensington

Tube station is directly in front of it.
Classy establishment.
Have not stayed there, but have visited and it is definitely very nice.

Check their web site for more information!

Second the Bailey's-I stayed there in 2000 for my first night in London. Nice comfy room and great staff, along with the good location close to Gloucester St station. All three boroughs are very nice-it comes down to the specific accommodations and location relative to your tastes and itinerary. Knightsbridge tends to be a bit more expensive than the other two, but is a great location and closer to the West End than the other two if you plan to do a lot of walking.
