Discounts with ebook vs paper guidebook

Hi all
Trying to find out how we would claim the discounts Rick mentions in his Europe 2013 guidebook when i've bought the ebook edition instead of the paper book. Are we still able to claim the small discounts that are available with the paper book? Thanks!

I don't see why not, show them the RS guide on the e-book. I think the discounts some accommodations offer are their way of thanking Rick for including them and encouraging his readers to try them. Better than the kickbacks some guides get for themselves.

We've used the Kindle RS ebooks the last two trips to Europe and every time we showed them the page with the merchant's name, the discounts or freebies have been honored. Last trip, we went to an expensive restaurant in Sorrento and the book mentioned a 10% discount with the book. Well, we forgot the kindle, and the restaurant still honored the discount.
