Blenheim palace looks a like great place to visit, but how do you get there? There are lots of options and it seems complicated. Is it worth it? I will have a britrail pass.
Thanks!
It's worth it. Take the train to Oxford. Walk from the station to St. Giles. Catch a local bus to Woodstock. Hey Presto! You're there.
You can take the train from Paddington Station to Oxford, which takes an hour and half. When you get to Oxford then you would want to get the Gloucester Green Bus no. 20, it leaves Oxford aboaut every 12 minutes during the day. It takes just over a half hour. The trip is well worth it. When we went to Blenheim we were there for about seven hours. After the tour of the Palace we had a fantastic lunch, then we walked thru the gardens, maze and the butterfly house. If you go you won't be dissappointed.
It's worth it if you don't mind the trip (transfers/time)there via public transport. Realize you will need at least half a day just to truly enjoy the palace and gardens.and allow time to stroll Woodstock also while you are there anyway. The entry is a little pricey, I thought espec since last Nov I visited and only had an hour to see it.
It's a wonderful place to visit. Now that you have directions..don't miss it.
