We only have time to see either the Dingle or the Ring of Kerry. Which one is a must see?
Dingle
Dingle
I would agree with Dingle, but I enjoyed the Ring of Kerry too, so I don't think you can go wrong either way.
Dingle.
Although - if we all keep telling people to do Dingle instead of the ROK - the Dingle Peninsula might start getting crowded like the ROK. Last March - I was behind a bus on Slea Head Drive. MARCH! Ugh.
Dingle.
It really depends on where your interests lie. The Ring has more of the eye-popping, majestic scenery, while Dingle has more of the small town charm. From the Ring, you can travel to the magnificent Skellig Islands, but unless you're doing that you can pretty much see it in a day. In contrast, Dingle deserves a couple of days.
If you follow Rick's guide to drive the Ring, you can avoid most of the crowds and tourist buses. So that's no reason to avoid the Ring. But Dingle does provide a more well-rounded experience.
It's really up to you. But as you can see, most posters on this board will recommend Dingle.
Definately Dingle.
We drove both last September. Unfortunately we did Dingle first. Why "unfortunately"? Because after Dingle, teh Ring of Kerry was a disappointment. We found much of the scenery s blocked by trees and you do not get the almost constant view of the sea that Dingle gives.
