Is this an easy day trip or should we plan to stop for the night someplace midway.
If by day trip you mean driving there in a day, it's easily doable. The drive itself is around 3.5 hours without stops, so if you stop along the way for pictures or lunch you should still easily get there by afternoon. If you mean a day trip where you go and come back in a day, it's not doable. Even if it were, you would see virtually nothing in the Dingle area in less than a day.
Thanks, that is helpful. I realize I wasn't very clear in my request. After two nights in Dingle we are driving to Kinsale for two nights and would like to make stops along the way. Sounds doable if the drive itself is only 3 1/2 hours.
Once you get to Killarney take the scenic route via Kenmare, Bantry, Skibbereen, etc. along the coast rather than going straight to Kinsale. You'll add as much as three hours to your driving time, but it will be time well spent. You'll be tempted to stop frequently to admire the view or to take a short walk. Yield to the temptation!
Thank you Tim. Will do!
