Dingle Ireland BnB

Has anyone stayed at the Captain House BnB lately? It looks beautiful and the description is great in the Rick Steve's 2010 book but some of the Trip Advisor reviews indicate that it has changed and is no longer run as a bnb with garden access etc. Any first hand experience or comment?

Betsy...... You're right. None of the listings seem to be current. Why hot email the owner (by name) and check.
Alternately consider: Heaton's and the Castlewood House. Both are on the edge of Dingle within walking distance.

We were in Dingle last year, and it didn't look to be open as an inn-- but I agree, it wouldn't hurt to email the owner and check. We stayed at a WONDERFUL b&b in Dingle, Emlaugh Lodge-- I highly encourage you to check it out. Very clean, modern, fantastic breakfasts and walking distance to town. it took us about...10 minutes or less to get into the heart of dingle from the B&B and there is a lovely private walk along the water, or at night, you can walk on the street. We really enjoyed our stay there!

We liked the Milestone House. It is just outside of Dingle Town. If you don't have a car, and I recommend you do, you could walk into town in about 10 minutes. Michael & Barbara provide a detailed hand drawn map of both the town and peninsula, with suggestions of the best places to go. They also serve the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. We had a lovely view of the water from our room (room 1?).

Betsy,

You might also have a look at This B&B in Dingle. It's in a fantastic location and easy to walk to town, the rooms are very comfortable and the owners are great.

Happy travels!

I second Ken's link to the Alpine Guesthouse. Nice people, great breakfasts, and wonderful location.

Betsey, I tried to make a reservation there a couple months ago. We are going to Ireland in three weeks. After four weeks and many emails, they finally responded with a very irritated attitude and offered me a room. I decided to decline and book at another B&B from Rick Steves book. There are so many in that area. It just didn't seem to be the kind of place that my sister in law had told us about. She stayed there five years ago and just loved the place and owners. But definately something has changed.
