Dingle B&B

Did anyone stay at a great B&B in Dingle and is it worth staying in Slea Head for the view?

The Captains House is a great B&B in Dingle. Very easy walking to pubs, shops, etc. I would stay in Dingle just for all the music pubs. Have fun.

Sara- We stayed at Alpine Guesthouse and were pleased with it. I'm not sure it is worth staying Slea Head for the view. It is a bit of a drive back into Dingle. You will probably want to enjoy the music and eat dinner in Dingle as well as do other things that leave from there. I haven't tried it so don't know for sure.

I would stay in Dingle for the reasons stated above. It is a nice town.

For the latests feedback on B&Bs in Dingle or elsewhere check the RS guide or www.tripadvisor.com.

The Lighthouse B & B. Large comfortable well appointed rooms. Stunning views over Dingle Bay. Mary & Dennis are warm and welcoming hosts.

I just returned from Ireland yesterday. We also stayed at the Milestone B&B. Barbara & Michael are fantastic and the breakfast is outstanding. Michael has two handmade maps, one of Dingle and one of the peninsula. He went over each one with suggestions for the best places to eat, listen to music, the best stops to make while driving the peninsula, etc. I had asked for their soda bread recipes (brown & white - delicious!) and when I checked my email today I found one from them with the requested recipes. We stayed in room #1, which had a double and twin bed. We had a great view of the water. It is a little distance from town, at the beginning of the Slea Head drive. We drove into town, but you could walk as well. Michael offered to drive us to town and we could taxi back if we wanted to drink more. We didn't take him up on his offer, but it was nice of him to make it!

We stayed at Bambury's Guesthouse last week and loved it! Bernie Bambury was a very gracious host and breakfast was wonderful. The location was fabulous as it was about a 2 minute walk into town and the harbor area.

On our first trip to Ireland in '99, we stayed at Duinin B&B. It was such a great place that we were ecstatic to find they were still open when we were there again in '05. We wouldn't stay any other place as long as they are in business. Pat and Ann Neligan are the owners and the absolute nicest people. IMO they serve the best breakfast in Ireland. It might have something to do with having a menu with great choices. They are located about a mile from Dingle on the Connor Pass Road.

I can't help you in staying on Slea Head. Have never stayed there.

Greenmount House in Dingle is phenominal. It is a terrific B&B and a great place to treat yourself to a real special place. The rooms are huge and well appointed, and the breakfasts are among the best that you will find on your trip.

We recently returned from a two week trip to Ireland and spent the four best days at the Milestone House in Dingle. We loved Dingle and look forward to returning some day for a longer stay. And when we do, we cannot imagine staying anywhere other than with Barbara & Michael Carroll at Milestone House. No one took better care of us, no one made us feel more at home or part of the family, no one did more to ensure that every side trip or dinning experience was perfect. They were simply wonderful.

Another vote for the Greenmount House. The views are worth the price.

This is a zombie thread from over 3 years ago that a new poster woke up. Now the OP, poor Sara, will be getting emails that there are responses to a question she no longer has. Please don't feed the zombies!

My family and visited Dingle our first few days in Ireland last summer. We stayed at the Milestone House run by Michael and Barbara. They were great! They helped us plan our driving tour of the Dingle Peninsula, gave us dining recommendations and they serve the most delicious fresh baked soda bread every morning with breakfast. You could probably find a nice place to stay in Slea Head but it's an easy drive from Dingle.
